What treatment options are available for planar fasciitis?

We like to look at treating plantar fasciitis 2 ways. We have to treat the pain that you are having with either rest , ice , medication, cortisone injections. However more importantly we have to determine why you are having this pain and get to the root of the issue. This is why a proper assessment with one of our podiatrists is so important. Not everyone’s plantar fasciitis is treated the same way.

No two bunions are the same. There are conservative treatment options that may be right for you. Our goal is to get you on your feet and enjoying all your activities without having to worry about foot pain. A proper assessment by 1 of our qualified podiatrist is needed to explain all your options to you. If all conservative treatment options have been attempted and pain is still present, surgery may be an option.

No two foot surgeries are the same and no two patients react the same to surgery. That being said we usually have our surgical patients non weight bearing for 2 weeks and then a gradual return to walking with running shoes. Normal healing time is approximately 3months. Swelling of the foot can be present for several months after surgery.

Yes we offer custom foot orthotics. A full biomechanical exam is performed and if orthotics are deemed necessary, your feet will be casted with plaster or foam. Depending on your age, activity level and foot problem we offer several different types of orthotics to fit your specific needs and will discuss the options with you.

PREVENTION< PREVENTION< PREVENTION. That is the key to healthy diabetic feet. We offer a full diabetic foot screening with vascular evaluation and neurological testing. Proper dermatologic and orthopedic assessment is also performed. A treatment plan is established to treat any present problems but even more importantly to determine any potential risks of infection and ulceration and prevent them from occurring. Patient education is key and our podiatrist will take the time to discuss and answer all your questions.

Are you tired of digging at your toenails? Do you often get infections and have pain with shoes? Then a permanent nail procedure maybe be for you . Get rid of that nagging ingrown nail once and for all! Our podiatrists perform in office ingrown toenail procedures under a local anesthesia. No stitches minimal down time. Book a consultation and see if a matrixectomy is right for you!

It’s all about the environment. If your feet are always sweaty, we need to address that first before treating the athlete’s foot otherwise nothing will work. Once we control the sweatiness (hyperhidrosis) then we could properly treat the fungal infection with a prescription of a topical or occasionally an antifungal medication.
