What treatment options are available for planar fasciitis?

We like to look at treating plantar fasciitis 2 ways. We have to treat the pain that you are having with either rest , ice , medication, cortisone injections. However more importantly we have to determine why you are having this pain and get to the root of the issue. This is why a proper assessment with one of our podiatrists is so important. Not everyone’s plantar fasciitis is treated the same way.

No two bunions are the same. There are conservative treatment options that may be right for you. Our goal is to get you on your feet and enjoying all your activities without having to worry about foot pain. A proper assessment by 1 of our qualified podiatrist is needed to explain all your options to you. If all conservative treatment options have been attempted and pain is still present, surgery may be an option.

Having said that, we generally ask our surgical patients to keep their feet off the ground for 2 weeks, followed by a gradual return to walking in sports shoes. Normal healing time is around 3 months. Swelling of the foot may be present for several months after surgery.
